Thermal runs the service side — equipment, agreements, dispatch, the invoice that comes off the work order. Xero keeps the ledger. The two-way sync is on the roadmap, not built yet — today, Thermal connects to QuickBooks.
What it is
The Xero integration is planned as a connection between Thermal and your Xero company file. When it ships, Thermal builds the invoice from the completed work order and the agreement's coverage rules, then hands the records that move money across to Xero: invoices, payments, contacts.
It is not a migration and not a replacement. Your chart of accounts, your reconciliations and your filings stay exactly where they are. None of it is built yet: Xero sync is on the public roadmap, and Thermal connects to QuickBooks instead.

There's no live Xero connection to describe yet — everything below is the plan, tracked on the public roadmap. Today you'd export from Thermal and enter it into Xero by hand.

Three things to know before you plan your accounting stack around this.
It isn't built yet
The connection and the sync are on the public roadmap. Track status and vote on priority at the roadmap. Until it ships, export from Thermal and enter it into Xero by hand — worth tracking your days sales outstanding during the gap so you can see the sync's eventual impact.
The plan won't touch your ledger structure
When it ships, Thermal doesn't create accounts, restructure your chart, or file anything. It posts invoices, payments and contacts. Everything else in Xero stays as your bookkeeper left it.
Leaving is not an event
Your data remains yours. No penalty exit clause, no export ransom — an owner can pull a full export from Settings at any time. The security page documents how that works.
