What it's for

Warranty is where manufacturer claims are raised, chased, and recovered. Warranty work you do and never claim for is money you paid a manufacturer's bill with, so this screen exists to make sure the claim gets made and closed.

Reach it from Service & Assets → Warranty in the sidebar, at /warranty. The reporting view is Warranty report.

Tabs

The screen has no tabs. It holds two things: the claim queue and the policies claims are raised against. Filters narrow the queue: All, Draft, Needs decision, and Closed, each with a count.

Panels and controls

The claim queue

Columns: Claim #, Equipment, Customer, Status, Assignee, Due, and Recovery. Recovery is the number that matters — what you expect to get back — and Due is what stops a claim ageing quietly.

Create draft starts a claim from a Work order and a Warranty policy, with a description of What failed?.

Policies

Policy, Manufacturer, Coverage, Deductible, and Status. A policy records what a manufacturer actually covers: Labor coverage %, Parts coverage %, Term (months), Deductible, an Approval over threshold, the Required evidence, the Exclusions, and a Claim number prefix.

Filling in required evidence and exclusions on the policy is what makes claims go through first time — the claim form then knows what to ask for.

Empty states

No warranty claims yet and No warranty policies yet.

How to configure it

  • Warranty settings decide the rollout controls and whether secure attachments are available. Secure attachments need private storage and an approved scanner configured — until then the option is unavailable rather than silently insecure.
  • Purchasing supplies the manufacturer vendors a policy points at.
  • Job costing settings decide how a recovered claim credits the job it came from.

Who can see it

This screen sits behind the Warranty area.

Owners, office managers and dispatchers can open it and work claims. Technicians cannot.

Two actions are narrower than the screen: only owners and office staff can redact evidence — "Only owners and office staff can redact evidence." — and only an owner can change the warranty rollout controls. Both are checked on the server.
