Manage inspections

Inspections is the org-wide list of every inspection run — walk-throughs and condition assessments logged against a unit, whether they started from a work order or were scheduled directly. It's separate from a technician's routine preventive-maintenance checklist inside a job; this is the record of every inspection result and the deficiencies it turned up.

Find and filter inspections

The list searches by template name and customer name, and filters by status:

• In progress — a technician has started the inspection but hasn't finished it.
• Completed — every item was worked through and the inspection is closed.
• Failed — the inspection closed with at least one deficiency that didn't pass.

Each row shows the template, the customer and unit, the assigned technician, the date, and a quick result summary.

Schedule a new inspection

Choose New inspection to schedule one directly — pick the template, the unit (or the customer/site to find one), and a technician. If you're scheduling from an existing work order, opening New inspection with that work order in context prefills the customer and equipment for you.

Review a completed inspection

Open any row to see the full run: every checklist item's pass/fail/flag result, readings captured (with a trend chart against the unit's prior readings where there's history), and any photos taken. Deficiencies — items that failed or were flagged — are listed separately so nothing gets lost in a long checklist.

From an inspection's detail page you can:

• Edit or dismiss a deficiency — correct a miscaptured result, or mark one as not actionable with a reason on file.
• Create a quote from deficiencies — turn the open deficiencies into a proposal ready to send, instead of writing one up by hand. See Create and send a proposal.
• Share the report — generate a customer-facing share link for the inspection report.
• Cancel — cancel an inspection that shouldn't have been started or is a duplicate.

Act on several inspections at once

Select rows in the list to generate reports, create quotes from deficiencies, or assign a technician across multiple inspections in one action — useful after a batch of PM visits closes out and several units turned up findings that need the same next step.
