Staff record

What it's for

A staff member's record is the single view of one person — their role, contact info, pay basis, commission plan, and trade credentials, plus a quick read on what they've done this month. It's what you open from the Staff list to edit, remove, or check up on someone.

Reach it by opening any row on People → Staff, at /staff/[id].

Tabs

  • Overview — profile fields: phone, hire date, base rate, burdened labor cost, and labor level.
  • Credentials — every trade credential on file for this person, with its status.

Panels and controls

  • The header band shows the person's name, an active/on-leave status badge, and a fact strip of Role, Joined, Email, Phone.
  • Prev/next arrows and a position counter step through the roster in the same order as the list.
  • Resend invite appears only if this person hasn't signed in yet and has an email on file.
  • Remove from shop revokes login and takes them off the roster. If this person is the shop's only owner, the button is replaced with a plain Last owner label — that seat can't be removed.
  • Edit opens the same form as Add staff, pre-filled.
  • The Credentials tab lists each credential's name, number, and status (active, expiring soon, expired, or revoked) in a table. No credentials on file is the empty state, with a link to add them from the Credentials page.
  • A right-rail This month card shows jobs completed and average ticket for the current calendar month, computed from completed and invoiced work orders assigned to this person. A first-time-fix figure is reserved but not yet populated — it shows a dash. When nothing has completed yet this month, the card says so plainly rather than showing bare zeros.
  • A Compensation card names the assigned commission plan and links to it, or says No commission plan assigned with a link to set one up.
  • A Contact card repeats email and phone for quick copying.

What it accepts

This record's fields are edited through the same Edit form used on the Staff list — see Staff for the field table and its validation rules. This page itself writes nothing beyond the header actions (resend invite, remove).

How to configure it

  • Settings → Labor rates supplies the labor-level scale this person's Labor level matches against.
  • Commissions is where the assigned plan lives and is changed.
  • Credentials is where credentials are added, renewed, or revoked — this page only displays them.

Who can see it

This screen sits behind the Staff area.

Owners and office managers can open any staff record. Dispatchers and technicians cannot — a technician sees their own profile and credentials in the field app, not this record or anyone else's. The gate is checked on the server, not just hidden in the sidebar, so a direct link does not get around it.

The full role matrix is on Roles & permissions.
