What it's for

Customers is the account list — every company or household your shop works for. It is the top of the spine: sites hang off a customer, equipment hangs off a site, and agreements, jobs, and invoices hang off those.

Reach it from Customers in the sidebar, at /customers. Opening one takes you to their record at /customers/<customer>.

Tabs

The list has no tabs. A rail of saved views and tag filters sits alongside it.

Panels and controls

  • The rail lists customers and lets you filter the list down without losing your place.
  • Tags are yours to define. New tag creates one, and applying a tag filters the list to the accounts carrying it — a light way to keep track of things the schema does not model, like "net-30 only" or "call before arriving".
  • Add creates a customer, or applies the tag you are working with.
  • The list shows the account name and the summary detail you need to tell two similar accounts apart before you open one.
  • Empty states are specific: No customers yet when the shop is new, and No matches when a filter or search has narrowed everything away.

What it accepts

The list itself only writes tags; customers are created on the New Customer form.

How to configure it

  • Branches scope which customers a branch-limited user sees.
  • Price book tiers set on a customer decide which pricing their jobs are quoted at.
  • Nothing else in Settings changes how this list behaves.

Who can see it

This screen sits behind the Customers area.

Owners, office managers and dispatchers can open it. Technicians cannot — the field app shows them the customer detail they need on their own jobs. The gate is checked on the server, not just hidden in the sidebar, so a direct link does not get around it.
