Asset QR label
What it's for
Asset QR label is one printable label for one unit. The QR code resolves to that unit's public asset card, so anyone standing in front of the equipment can scan it and see what it is, when it was installed, and what has been done to it — without an account and without hunting for a serial number.
Reach it from Print label on a unit. The route is
/customers/<customer>/equipment/<unit>/label.
Tabs
The page has no tabs. It is the label and a print button.
Panels and controls
- The label shows the QR code alongside the unit's identity, with the serial and asset id set in a monospaced face so a hand-copied character is never ambiguous.
- Print opens your browser's print dialogue. "Save as PDF" from that dialogue is how you get a file — there is no separate export button, because the browser already does it properly.
- The page is laid out for print, so what you see is what comes out of the printer.
To label a whole site in one pass, use the site label sheet instead of printing one unit at a time.
What it accepts
Nothing. The label is generated from the unit's own record — change the unit's details and reprint to get an updated label.
How to configure it
- Branding settings decide how the label is styled.
- The unit's own Make, Model, and Serial are what the label prints, so a unit with a blank nameplate produces a sparse label.
- The QR code points at the unit's public asset card, which is available without a login by design — that is what makes scanning it useful in the field.
Who can see it
This screen sits behind the Equipment area, inside the signed-in app.
Owners, office managers and dispatchers can open it. Technicians cannot print from here, though the label they scan in the field resolves fine. The label's QR destination is a public asset card, so whoever holds the printed label can read the unit's card — that is the intent, and it is worth knowing before labelling something sensitive.
