Session expired (portal)

What it's for
Session expired is what a customer sees when their portal session has run out. It exists so an expired session reads as "sign in again" rather than as a broken page or a locked account.
Your customers reach it automatically when a session lapses. The route is
/portal/expired.
Tabs
The page has no tabs. It is a message and a way back in.
Panels and controls
- The message states that the session has expired and that signing in again is all that is needed. Nothing has been lost and no access has been revoked.
- Signing in again issues a fresh session from the same email address the portal invite went to.
- There is nothing else on the page by design. A customer who has just been logged out is not in the mood to read.
If a customer reports being unable to get back in, the question to ask is whether the invite went to an address they still use — portal access follows the email on their customer record.
What it accepts
Nothing beyond the action to sign in again. The page is a dead end by design, not a form.
How to configure it
- Customer portal settings decide how long a session lasts before it expires.
- The email on the customer's record is what a fresh sign-in link goes to.
- Branding settings decide how the page looks.
Who can see it
This screen is part of the customer portal. It is reached by a customer whose session has expired.
It is not part of the office app. If a customer cannot get back in, your staff can resend the invite from the customer record.
