What it's for

Quotes in the customer portal is where a customer reviews and approves what you have proposed. A quote a customer can approve at eleven at night is a quote that does not wait for office hours.

Your customers reach it from the portal, at /portal/quotes.

Tabs

The screen has no tabs. It is one list; opening a quote shows its detail.

Panels and controls

  • Columns: Quote, Site, Sent, Total, and Status. Status tells the customer what is expected of them without them having to work it out.
  • Opening a quote shows the line items — Description, Qty, Unit price, and Total — so they can see what they are paying for rather than a single number.
  • Approve accepts the quote. That records the acceptance against the proposal in your office, where it can be converted into a work order, an agreement, a project, or an invoice.
  • No quotes yet is the empty state.

An approval here is the same event as an acceptance recorded in the office, so there is no double-handling and no ambiguity about whether the customer actually said yes.

What it accepts

FieldFormatRequiredRule
ApproveA single action per quoteYes, to acceptRecords acceptance against the proposal in the office app

Where a proposal offers several options, approving selects the option the customer picked.

How to configure it

  • Customer portal settings decide whether the quotes section appears and whether customers may approve from it.
  • Proposals settings decide the validity period, the terms shown, and how options are presented.
  • Branding settings decide how a quote looks to the customer.

Who can see it

This screen is part of the customer portal. Your customers reach it with a portal login, and each one sees only their own quotes.

It is not part of the office app. Your staff work from Proposals instead.
