Contractor rental record
What it's for
A contractor rental record is one business-to-business rental in full: the contractor being billed, the site the unit went to, the branch it returns to, the term, and what has been charged.
Reach it by opening any row on Jobs → Contractor rentals. The route is
/rentals/contractor/<contract>.
Tabs
The record has no tabs. The unit and term are the body; billing and return sit alongside.
Panels and controls
- Bill-to contractor — the account being invoiced. Charges follow the contractor rate card, which can be specific to this contractor.
- Deployment site — where the unit physically is. This is the site a non-compete condition applies to.
- Return-to branch — the yard the unit is expected back at.
- The unit and its condition record from deployment.
- The term — start, scheduled end, and current state. Left open-ended, the contract keeps billing per cycle until the unit is returned.
- Charges — the resolved rate, any minimum, and any deposit.
- Return closes the contract with a date, condition photos, a meter reading where applicable, and any return charges.
Non-compete in practice
Where the contract carries a non-compete, booking service work at the deployment site asks for a written override reason first — on the work-order form, on the Call intake screen, and in the Equipment bulk "Book a visit" action. The reason is stored with the job, so an override is always traceable.

How to configure it
- This screen belongs to the Rentals module — see Settings → Capabilities.
- The contractor rate card decides the rate.
- Rentals settings decide the return-charge types and waiver defaults.
- Invoicing settings decide what the contractor's invoice looks like.
Who can see it
This screen sits behind the Rentals area, and additionally behind the Rentals module.
Owners and office managers can open it where the module is on. Dispatchers and technicians cannot. The gate is checked on the server, not just hidden in the sidebar, so a direct link does not get around it.
