What it's for
Utilization & ROI answers whether your rental fleet is earning. It shows how much of the time each unit is out, how much money that produced, what maintaining it cost, and the return per asset.

Panels and controls
Columns: Asset, Class, Time, Rev for the period, Maint, and $ util.
The two utilization figures are the point of this screen, and they answer different questions:
- Time utilization is how much of the period the unit was out. A high number means the unit is wanted.
- $ util is revenue against what the unit is worth. A high number means the unit is priced right.
A unit high on time and low on dollars is underpriced or over-discounted. A unit low on time and high on dollars is a specialist — worth keeping, not worth buying another of. Maint against revenue is what tells you when an old unit has stopped being an asset.
The period can be changed, and the figures move with it.
What it accepts
The screen takes no input beyond the period selector. It is a read-out over the fleet and its rental contracts.
How to configure it
- This screen belongs to the Rentals module — see Settings → Capabilities.
- Job costing settings decide how maintenance cost is built, which is what makes the maintenance column comparable to revenue.
- Acquisition cost on each fleet asset is the basis for return; a unit registered without one shows revenue but not return.
- Rate cards drive the revenue side.
Who can see it
This screen sits behind the Rentals area, and additionally behind the Rentals module.
Owners and office managers can open it where the module is on. Dispatchers and technicians cannot. The gate is checked on the server, not just hidden in the sidebar, so a direct link does not get around it.
